JOB SUMMARY

Provides screening, evaluation and therapeutic intervention for patients referred by physicians or appropriate source.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Administer and score standardized test procedures to assist in evaluation of patient communicative skills.
  • Interpretation and written reports are required following assessment including patient education and input related to test results and recommendations.
  • Develop a treatment plan and implementation per doctor referral. Documentation and progress notes after each patient contact is required.
  • Contact with physician/nursing is necessary to provide information on patient status.
  • Interdisciplinary communication and/or treatment with physical therapy and/or occupational therapy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all ages and socio-economic status.
  • Job knowledge of the medical implications of various disorders of stroke, traumatic brain injury, tracheostomy/vent patients, language delay, articulation/motor disorders, intellectual disability and swallowing disorders.

 

Requirements Include
  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

     

  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology required.
  • Current License by the State of Ohio and Certified Clinically Competent by ASHA required.

  • Ohio Department of Education licensure/certification (where appropriate).
  • Maintained necessary CEU’s and training to retain licensure.
  • Current CPR certification
