What is Cardiac Rehabilitation?

Who We Are

Welcome to cardiac rehabilitation. As a major component of Cardiovascular Services at Knox Community Hospital, our cardiac rehabilitation program is part of a growing range of cardiology services that also includes information on heart disease prevention, advanced diagnostic testing and treatment.

Staffed by highly qualified cardiac professionals, our cardiac rehabilitation program is designed for those with heart disease, individuals who have suffered a heart attack and recovering cardiac surgery patients.

The program offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment, monitoring devices and individual multidisciplinary counseling to help patients make adjustments in all areas of their lives related to heart health.

The program is personalized to individual needs and all patients gain from the focus on decreasing risk factors for heart disease and any progression of existing problems.

Our outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program is conducted under the guidance of board-certified cardiologist J. Pala, MD, the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at Knox Community Hospital. In recognition of the overall quality of our cardiac rehab program, we received Program Certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This prestigious certification is given only to cardiac rehabilitation programs that meet the certification standards.
