Meeting the needs of our community.

Access to good care is an important part of Knox Community Hospital’s mission.

In the past, patients who needed specialized medicine had to drive hours to and from urban areas to receive help—often while being ill. The cost, time, and inconvenience caused some patients to skip advanced care altogether.

Deferred care translates into lower quality of life and, later on, into longer, costly hospital stays.  Knox Community Hospital quickly recognized this patient problem and started recruiting medical specialties to our area. Now, our patients are able to visit their primary physician, get a referral for specialized care, and see a medical specialist in one convenient location.

OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The Ariel Foundation and the Wright family have been strong supporters of Knox Community Hospital for decades.  Their relationship with and contributions to KCH have proven to be invaluable.  More recently, their generous support and guiding influence have provided the momentum needed to bring the largest expansion project in Knox Community Hospital’s history to its completion.  How fitting then that the facility should be called The Wright Family Medical Pavilion in honor of their bedrock commitment to the health and growth of our community.

At the heart of the medical pavilion is the new birthing center—The Ann Schnormeier Center for Birthing Care.  Ann and Ted Schnormeier also gave generously to the KCH’s new family-friendly complex.  As a Foundation Board Member and a trustee on the hospital Board, Ann tirelessly contributed her time and talents to the project’s success.

The Foundation for KCH would also like to thank the individuals, businesses and organizations that have generously contributed to the making of the Wright Family Medical Pavilion.

Your gift is truly an investment in the personalized quality care that will make a huge difference in the lives of our fellow Knox County residents.
