Advocates

The patient advocate serves as a patient advocate, working with patients, our hospital administration, and staff on behalf of patients and their families. They are able to share information and address any concerns with the utmost respect and confidentiality.

If you have any concerns about your visit to Knox Community Hospital, please contact our patient advocate at 740.393.9890. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 4:30 PM; after hours, please leave a message, and your call will be returned as soon as possible. 

If you have safety or quality of care concerns at Knox Community Hospital that have not been addressed by the hospital, please contact the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities via one of the following methods:

  • On The Joint Commission’s website, using the “Report a Patient Safety Event” link in the “Action Center” 
  • By fax to 630.792.5636
  • By mail to The Office of Quality and Patient Safety, The Joint Commission, One Renaissance Boulevard, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois 60181

Any employee may contact the Joint Commission without fear of disciplinary action taken by the hospital.

Baby Changing Stations

Koala Cub changing stations are located in both our men’s and women’s restrooms in the front lobby and in the Emergency waiting area.

Cafeteria

Our Cafeteria is located on the first floor past the front lobby and is open as follows:

  • Breakfast WEEKDAYS | 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM 

  • Lunch WEEKDAYS | 11 AM – 2 PM 
  • Dinner WEEKDAYS | 5 PM – 6:30 PM

Free coffee is available to all employees and visitors by visiting our cafeteria.

There are also vending machines providing coffee, soft drinks, newspapers, and snacks are adjacent to our cafeteria and in our Emergency waiting area (coffee and soft drinks only).

Chapel/Family Room

You may visit our Chapel, located on the 1st floor, at any time. It is an excellent place to meet with family and friends in total privacy. Physicians may also use this room to meet with patients’ family members.

Gift Shops

Knox Community Hospital is now fortunate to have two Gift Shops, operated by the Knox Community Hospital Auxiliary. The most known shop is located in the main hospital accessed by the Coshocton Avenue entrance. The new shop is located in the Wright Family Medical Pavilion on the second floor. Both shops have an array of small gifts, flowers, magazines, and cards available.

Parking

Designated parking areas are reserved for the handicapped, volunteers, clergy, and physicians. Please respect these areas to assure that these groups have easy access to the hospital.

Smoking

Knox Community Hospital is a tobacco-free campus. Tobacco use is prohibited on KCH campus and affiliated properties.

Wireless Service

When waiting for a loved one who is undergoing a procedure, or visiting friends or family in the hospital, you can use your laptop to access the internet. Wireless service is available in the cafeteria, registration areas, emergency waiting room and patient rooms.
