In honor of Donate Life month, representatives from Lifeline of Ohio led us in a Donate Life flag-raising ceremony on April 15th.
Carol Emery, CNO, Bruce D. White, CEO, several department directors, an organ donor and a donation recipient attended the ceremony.
This National Donate Life Month, we ask you to join this interconnected life-sustaining community by registering as an organ, eye, and tissue donor, becoming educated about living donation, and championing the Donate Life cause.

Nationally, more than 100,000 people are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant and another person is added to the waiting list every eight minutes.
Locally, KCH is bringing awareness to this topic by encouraging staff to wear blue and green on Friday, April 12 in observance of Donate Life month, setting up a donor registration table at the hospital, and sharing the message across the hospital and on social media. On Monday, April 15, at 10:30 am, a Donate Life flag will be raised at the hospital, with representatives from both KCH and Donate Life attending.
“KCH has supported this initiative for decades; the impact on human lives right here in our community and beyond is tremendous. We are blessed to be able to offer this option to patients who want this service. We were the first rural hospital to participate and offer placenta donations in addition to the well-known organ and tissue donation programs. Anyone can be a donor, regardless of age, race, or medical history. A medical evaluation will take place at the time of death, so don’t rule yourself out of saving and healing lives.
